About the event

Reason for the Event

To re-establish the connection of those who have travelled to Nepal with the REACH for Nepal foundation over the last 5 years and in doing so, raise funds to provide humanitarian aid at a time when it is most needed. With the Covid travel restrictions still in place, many villages are struggling to put food on the table as many of them are reliant on tourism to survive.

Details of the Event

Only people who have travelled to Nepal with the foundation, or those associated with the foundation in a formal capacity, together with their family and friends are invited to this event.

Details of the walk can be found here. In summary, it is about 10 kms in length and will take around 3 to 4 hours. Elevation is only about 300 metres.

The walk will start at the Square Rock car park, which is on Corin Road. Follow signs via sealed roads to Corin Forest from Canberra's southern suburbs. Once on the Corin Road, proceed for several hundred metres past the Corin Forest Mountain Reserve on your right and look out for a large gravel carpark on your left. This is the new Square Rock trailhead.

  • Please arrive at the car park at 9:00 on Sunday the 18th April for a 9:30 start.
  • A BBQ sponsored by More than Mortgages will be provided at the conclusion of the walk.
  • A token prize will be awarded to the person who has donated the highest amount.

Registration for the Event

You will need to register for this event by Monday the 12th April for catering and other purposes.

The entry fee is $25 per adult or whatever donation you wish to make. Please note the aim of this event is to build and support the REACH for Nepal community here in Canberra, so please don’t let the entry fee preclude you from participating. In other words, the entry fee is non-obligational.

On the other hand, if you wish to donate more than $25, then you are eligible for the token prize. Remember, the Australian dollar goes a long way in Nepal where $4 feeds a child lunch for a month.

It promises to be a wonderful event where we can re-live stories and reconnect with those who we travelled with you in your group.

We hope you can join us!
